Growing Your Business: Why Lock Down LinkedIn?

I am shocked to find out that some large companies forbid their employees to use LinkedIn. These companies worry that if they expose the names of the people who work for them, that the best of their crop might be pillaged and yanked from their ranks. Well, I can only imagine the kind of environment that exists inside of a company that tries to create a roadblock in front of their people.

Growing Your Business: Creating Great Content

People frequently ask me how I'm able to create so much content for this blog. My readers know that my content is unique and it takes a lot of energy to create it. I take notes and I write down ideas on little scraps of paper. These ideas frequently come from situations that I am exposed to as I go through my days. It takes a lot of energy to create brand new material.

What I know about the money business is that the closer you get to the dollar, the more money you make. And when lots of dollars are at stake, beware because the sharks come out.

Show Me The Money: How To Find The Money To Fund Your Film

Filmmakers have two dramatic problems and neither of them are artistic. First, filmmakers have to get the money to make their film. Second, they have to make enough money so that they can pay the original money back. Both of these issues, if left unattended and unplanned for, will take you down the bunny hole faster than you can imagine.

Growing Your Business: A New Way Of Thinking About The WWW

There are certain little words that people use that I find very revealing. Some of these little colloquialisms are the subject for another day. But one word in particular deserves its own entry in this blog.

Growing Your Business: Keep Going Back To The Drawing Board

Sometimes the best well-intentioned plans don't work out as you expect, and in every case, it's necessary to debrief and regroup. And sometimes you even have to go back to the drawing board. This process is a critical one for businesses because when the best-laid plans don't work out the way that you expect, you have to learn from the experience that you had and create new plans and strategies based on the parts that worked and modifying the parts that didn't work. But be careful not to "throw the baby out with the bathwater."

More Thoughts On $5 Gasoline

The only conversation that I am hearing lately is about gas prices and what fuel efficient car we should buy. Don't people remember that we are at war and that an historic election is imminent?
