Growing Your Business: Don't Look Straight Ahead, Look Sideways

I frequently work with scientists, inventors, technologists, and people who invent solutions to problems. Unfortunately, it's very frequent that these inventors will come up with solutions even though they have no idea what the problem is. In other words, they end up creating a solution looking for a problem. Sometimes, the solution that an inventor, scientist, or other person invents is for a specific purpose, but it ends up not being optimal for the problem at hand.

Real Estate Syndication Questions & Answers: Part 6

As we prepare for our seminar program that covers the concepts of successful syndication, many people are sending in questions that they have about the topic. We are organizing them into categories and I am answering them so that everyone who is interested in learning how to make money the same way that Wall Street makes money, can begin to understand how the business works.

Growing Your Business: Live Your Dream

One of the great aspects of being an entrepreneur is that it affords us the opportunity to live our dream. Growing Your Business: Talking Like a Marketer

It's a funny thing how language has the power to change the value of something from a low price to a high price. It doesn't matter if the item has changed at all but the perception of the item could be changed just with the words that we use to describe it.

Growing Your Business: Are You Making Business Decisions?

All decisions in business are either business decisions or they're financial decisions. If you're flush with cash, and you have the ability to do anything that you want, then you'll be making good long range strategic business decisions every time. But most companies are not so fortunate. They aren't flush with cash, and they aren't able to make good long range strategic decisions every time they put on their thinking caps.

Growing Your Business: Bonding with Your Customers

I provide high-level strategic advisory services for my clients. I also help them raise capital, find debt, and help them organize sales forces, as well as sometimes helping them to close their really big transactions. Even though I'm a service provider and I work heavily on the equity side, meaning that I like to participate in the up-side of companies, I think of myself in a way that other service providers frequently find embarrassing.
