Growing Your Business: I Don't Get It!
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
There are a lot of things that I don't get, and most of the time, when I don't get something, I tend to stay away from it. I think most of the time, it works the same way. We don't understand it; we don't do it. Why would we do it if we don't understand it? On the other hand, maybe it makes a lot of sense to do things whether we understand them or not, at least sometimes.

The entrepreneur business is one of the best businesses in the United States. It's an exciting business; it's a challenging business; it's a business that can deliver billions of dollars to winners and scoop up all of the money that the losers ever earned in their lifetime, leaving them poor, if not destitute.

Growing Your Business: Money Is About Priorities
Money is entirely about priorities. People can spend it any way that they choose. They can buy fancy cars that suck up a lot of gas, or they can buy more economical vehicles that are more energy efficient and socially responsible. People can be selfish or people can be lavish, but the one thing that we can all agree on is that people can spend their own money in any way that they want.

Growing Your Business: Guru Marketing At Its Best
I'm a proponent of being very specific about finding a niche in your business. Every successful businessperson has to find a niche and they have to get great at it. Then, they have to exploit it in every way that they can. The businesses that are the least successful are the ones that are sloppy about finding their niche.

Growing Your Business: Are You Ready?
This week, I received a phone call from a company on the East coast that wanted to sell me a service. I'm generally very easy going when it comes to receiving phone calls. Even if I don't recognize the phone number, I'll almost always answer it, and if it's a salesperson, I'll generally give them the time of day that they need to give their pitch or presentation to me.

Growing Your Business: What Is Technology, Really?
I am tremendously confused. I don't have any idea anymore what technology is. I went to college in the early 1980s; I got my first job in the middle 80's and really cut my teeth in my career in the late 80's. That's when I first started making my money.

Growing Your Business: Why Lock Down LinkedIn?
I am shocked to find out that some large companies forbid their employees to use LinkedIn. These companies worry that if they expose the names of the people who work for them, that the best of their crop might be pillaged and yanked from their ranks. Well, I can only imagine the kind of environment that exists inside of a company that tries to create a roadblock in front of their people.

Growing Your Business: Creating Great Content
People frequently ask me how I'm able to create so much content for this blog. My readers know that my content is unique and it takes a lot of energy to create it. Everywhere that I go, every time that I have a meeting, every person who I talk to, every idea that we kick around, becomes potential fodder for this blog. I take notes and I write down ideas on little scraps of paper. These ideas frequently come from situations that I am exposed to as I go through my days. It takes a lot of energy to create brand new material.

Growing Your Business: It's Not Business As Usual
These are tough economic times. There are some people who are using the "R" word. There are other people who are using the "D" word. I don't know if we're in a recession or a depression, but what I do know is that many people are starting to have a hard time and that this economy is taking its toll on many people.
