Don't Take Another Course Until You Call Me

I received a call from a gentleman over the weekend who was just about to plunk down a bunch of dough for a course that would help him buy a great company for a low price with money that came out of thin air. I told this gentleman that it sounded like a fantasy to me, and in all my years of doing deals I've never seen a great company go for a low price that was purchased with money that came out of thin air.

He agreed that it sounded too good to be true, but he was so excited about the prospect of doing it that his emotion got in the way of his better judgment. I cautioned him to think carefully and rationally about this process. I told him that there are no gimmicks, there are no short cuts, and there are no schemes that will honestly work.

It's only when you add value to other people and other businesses that you receive value in return. When you add a lot of value to a lot of people, you get a lot of money in return. That's the way that it works.
